Psalm 105:4 urges us: “Seek the Lord, and His strength; seek His face evermore.” In Scripture, the word “face” is often synonymous with presence. To seek God’s face, then, is to intentionally seek His presence. At TwelveStone Health Partners, this truth is not abstract—it is lived out every day as we deliver care to patients with chronic, complex conditions.
When patients walk through our doors, many are weary. Chronic illness, whether multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, or rheumatoid arthritis, takes more than a physical toll; it wears down the spirit. Our calling is to create more than a clinical experience—we strive to make every infusion suite a place where God’s presence can be felt in tangible ways.
Removing Barriers to God’s Presence
Sin, unforgiveness, and hardened hearts can distance us from God’s presence. In a healthcare context, barriers look different, but they are no less real. Anxiety about treatment, fear of pain, financial worries, or past negative experiences can block patients from feeling peace and more importantly hope.
That’s why our team is deliberate about the “little things.” A clean and welcoming space. A smile at the front desk. Clear explanations of the process—whether it’s the first or the hundredth time. A well-placed piece of tape after a gentle IV stick. These details may seem small, but they matter. They break down walls and open hearts to receive care—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
The First Move Always Belongs to God
We are also reminded that God always moves first. Per 1John4:19, “We love Him, because He first loved us”. At TwelveStone, we see this in how God places opportunities before us. Every patient who enters our infusion center is not there by accident—they are part of God’s larger plan.
Our role is to respond with compassion, just as Revelation 3:20 describes Jesus standing at the door and knocking. In healthcare, that knock is the moment a patient hesitates to share a concern, or when they pause before answering “How are you?” faithfully. We listen, we pray if asked, we show up in those moments—trusting that God is present and active.
The infusion chair can become a sacred space. Treatments may take hours, but within those hours patients can experience renewal. We see this when a patient realizes their pain is finally easing, when they learn their insurance approved the next round of therapy, or when they feel comfort in knowing they are not walking this road alone.
For our team, these outcomes are not simply clinical victories; they are reminders that God’s mercy and grace are at work. Healing happens not only in the medication infused but, in the relationships created, the prayers whispered, and the details faithfully tended.
Faithful in Little, Entrusted with Much
As Luke 16:10 says, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” At TwelveStone, this means being faithful in the details of care—because in those details, patients experience dignity, compassion, and the presence of God.
Let us continue to seek His face in every IV started, every chair prepared, and every patient served. For when we seek His presence in the details, He entrusts us with the greater work of healing body, mind, and spirit.
